Description
A pendant structured as a triangular amulet holder, centred on a rigid silver body with a horizontal tubular element forming the upper register. The triangular field rises above this axis, establishing the primary form, while a series of suspended chains extend below, creating a clear transition from fixed structure to mobile lower elements.
The surface is set with multiple carnelian cabochons arranged in a regular sequence across both the triangular upper section and the horizontal bar. The ground is worked with engraved and fire-gilded pattern, organised within defined geometric compartments that reinforce the form. Along the perimeter of the triangle, small crescent-form projections articulate the edges, marking the outline of the structure.
Along the lower edge, a row of projecting elements supports linked chains, each terminating in small spherical bells. These form a continuous fringe, extending the structure downward and introducing movement and sound when worn. The pendant is bilaterally organised, with the central vertical axis marked by the apex of the triangle and reinforced by the distribution of stones and suspended elements. The upper bar terminates laterally in cylindrical ends, completing the horizontal span and stabilising the composition.
Context
Central Asian amulet holders of this type combine container and ornament within a single structure. The enclosed form functions as a receptacle, while suspended chains and bells introduce movement when worn.
