Description

A necklace constructed from a sequence of large hollow silver elements, strung in a continuous circular form. Each unit is composed of paired conical sections joined at their widest point, forming biconal volumes that establish the primary structure of the piece.

The elements are arranged in regular succession, separated by small spacer rings that maintain interval and alignment across the strand. Surface treatment is defined by fine linear hammering, producing a directional pattern that follows the geometry of each form and reinforces their volume. Toward the clasp, the sequence transitions to smaller spherical elements flanking a hook-and-ring closure, completing the suspension.

The form reads as rigid but the segmented construction allows movement. The repetition of geometric units defines the structure, with weight distributed evenly across the circumference.

Context

Northern Thai silver jewellery of this type is organised through the repetition of hollow metal forms rather than bead-based systems. Emphasis rests on volume, surface, and the assembly of individual units within a continuous structure.
