Description
A necklace composed of graduated coral beads, strung in a continuous sequence and closing with a smaller terminal element. The beads increase in scale toward the lower arc, establishing weight at the base before returning to smaller units toward the clasp. Each bead is irregular in contour, retaining the natural mass of the material rather than conforming to a standardised form.
The surfaces are marked by embedded turquoise inclusions, set directly into the coral matrix. These inserts are distributed across the beads without uniform spacing, creating an uneven surface distribution across the strand. The strand runs uninterrupted, allowing the sequence of forms and materials to read as a single continuous structure.
Context
Tibetan jewellery is structured through material presence and sequence rather than articulated metalwork. Organic elements are assembled in graduated order, with inserted stones introducing variation within a stable linear form.
