Baga Nimba Shoulder Mask
A shoulder mask organised through an elongated vertical structure, the form contained within a narrow architectural volume articulated by projecting lateral extensions and a compressed upper register.
Incised geometric pattern extends across the surface in continuous repetition, while abrasion and exposure remain concentrated at projecting edges and areas of handling. The relationship between elongated support elements and compressed upper volume establishes the structural balance characteristic of Baga ceremonial sculpture.
